Brighter smile with Tooth Bleaching

Tooth bleaching is the process in which it helps remove stains, discoloration, and lightens teeth. Many people – from different ages – tend to have their teeth go from white to possibly even yellow. This could be for various reasons like:

Food and Drink

Coffee, tea, and red wine are the three major drinks that cause staining. The one thing they all have in common is an intense color pigment called chromogens. This pigment attaches to the white outer part of your tooth which leaves a stain.

Tobacco Use

Tobacco has two chemicals that cause stains: tar and nicotine causing for the teeth to turn into a yellowish color.

Age

Over time, the outer enamel (the outer shell of the teeth) becomes thinner and it starts turning into a yellowish color.

Trauma

If you have been hit in the mouth, you may possibly experience a change of color because of the injury.

Medications

Certain medications and treatments can cause teeth darkening as a side effect.

Over the years tooth bleaching has become more and more popular. If there is a slight chance that someone can get it done they would. Tooth bleaching is a worthwhile investment with long term benefits.

There are three ways in which a person can attain whiter teeth.

  1. Whitening Toothpastes – There are many toothpastes that help remove surface stains but some are more powerful than others. Note that toothpaste do not change the color of the teeth it only removes stain.

  1. In-Office Bleaching – This procedure is called chairside bleaching and it only requires one office visit. The procedure is simple: The dentist will either apply a protective gel to your gums or a rubber shield would be used to protect the gums. After that the bleach is applied to the teeth.

  1. At-Home Bleaching – Many people use whitening strip which is simply just a strip that sticks to your teeth and stays there for a couple of minutes or couple of hours depending what the instructions say.
