Oral Cancer Screening
Routine cancer screenings are performed at every examination and suspected lesions can now be further examined with a simple and painless brush biopsy. A dentist can now help prevent the occurrence of oral cancer, a disease which studies have shown to be linked to HPV.
Tooth Bleaching
For some patients we recommend Zoom-Advanced Power, a fast and proven method to brighten teeth by eight to 10 shades in less than one hour. After your dental examination, we will decide if you are a good candidate for Zoom bleaching. Patients love the immediate results.
We also offer ‘take home’ whitening systems. Our kits use comfortable custom-made trays for your teeth which will gradually lighten them with long lasting effects. We can also suggest less expensive options for simple touch-ups. Proper care during and after bleaching is paramount: We insist that our patients heed our recommendations for post-treatment follow-up.

Cosmetic Dentristy
The power of a smile is undeniable. What does your smile say about you? There are several methods now available to help you obtain a dazzling smile . We want to provide you during our consultation with all the necessary information to explore your options.

Veneers
Porcelain laminates can drastically improve the appearance of stained, chipped or crooked teeth. These thin, custom-made porcelain facings recreate the original enamel of your teeth with the shape, size and color that best suit your face determined by a meticulous pre-treatment work-up. After an initial detailed consultation, we will create waxed models of your teeth and computer imaging to aid in our discussion.
Veneers offer a safe and smart way to correct a worn and unattractive smile and eliminate the need to grind the teeth down to fit them with crowns. Consulting with an AACD dentist to plan your cosmetic dentistry constitutes the single most important step in the process. See our FAQ section.

Restorative Dental Care / Tooth-Colored Fillings
Our practice advocates using tooth-colored composite or porcelain fillings for the chewing surfaces of the back teeth. This procedure takes either one or two visits, depending on the size of the cavity. Over time, as large amalgam or silver fillings crack, stain or leak, we recommend replacing them with newer, safer, more attractive composite or porcelain options.
Composites are tooth colored resin restorations which are now made very strong and can be used anywhere in the mouth in place of silver fillings. The tooth-colored materials provide the patient and dentist an option when appearance is a primary concern.
Inlays and onlays are dental restorations that are primarily used to repair teeth that are badly damaged by decay or wear. Unlike a silver-colored amalgam filling or a small tooth-colored filling that are placed in one office visit, inlays and onlays are custom-made and typically require two dental visits. The inlay or onlay is fabricated from a mold of your tooth in a laboratory or with a computer-assisted manufacturing procedure. With a dental laboratory on premises, we can often send your back to your regular activities in no time at all.
We always choose the safest and gentlest approach in dental care. When appropriate, we use micro-air abrasion to prepare a tooth for small fillings, avoiding the pain and noise associated with typical drills. Air abrasion can also clean the deep grooves in your back teeth which can later be sealed with a resin thus preventing the possible formation of cavities.
In some cases, Crowns can protect and strengthen teeth while improving their appearance. Today, we mostly use all porcelain or reinforced porcelain crowns such as: Procera, Captek or Zirconia, thus preventing ugly staining at the gum line and yielding a more natural smile.

Dental Implants
Just like healthy and permanent teeth, implants allow for more thorough chewing and stronger biting power. Functioning like healthy roots anchored in your mouth like original teeth, they prevent and slow down the bone loss associated with teeth extraction. Replacing missing teeth with implants also prevent the unnecessary shaving down of otherwise healthy teeth for the fabrication of bridges. Our dentists possess considerable expertise in implant treatment and employ the latest technology to insure the success of your implants.
